Tarot · Spread — Brick by Brick · 6 positions
Breathe deep. Ask clearly.
Ask your question, or let the cards send you a message. The spread holds whatever you bring.
Building your career, stone by stone
Career goals rarely fail on energy and almost always fail on clarity. You know you want "something new" — but what exactly? Which motivation actually carries? Which project deserves your energy right now? This six-card spread sorts your career movement into exactly the six fields that decide together whether you move forward: purpose, motivation, responsibilities, your projects, what you are being rewarded for, and your longer career potential. Ideal when you are facing a decision, considering a career change, or simply want clarity on where your professional energy actually belongs right now.
What the career-goals spread shows you
The career-goals spread is a build plan, not a prediction. Card 1 shows your purpose — the inner answer to "why do I want anything career-wise at all?". Card 2 shows your motivation — the energy that actually drives you, not the one you wish drove you. Card 3 shows your responsibilities: what you already stand for today. Card 4 shows your projects: the concrete topics you are spending your time on. Card 5 shows what you are currently rewarded with — money, recognition, meaning, connections, learning. Card 6 is the outlook card: your longer career potential if you continue down the path you are on.
When this spread fits
The career-goals spread fits when:
- you are considering a career change and need clarity on the why
- you have been working hard for months and have lost track of what for
- a job offer is in front of you and you want to see what it does to your longer path
- you are on a career pause and sorting the next step
- you have several projects at once and do not know where to invest energy
How to actually read the six cards
Read the spread in three pairs. First pair: cards 1 and 2 (purpose and motivation). When both are clear and reinforce each other, you have a stable inner foundation. When they contradict, that is the most important info in the spread — your purpose and what actually drives you are not the same. Second pair: cards 3 and 4 (responsibilities and projects). Ask honestly: are you working on what you also stand behind, or are you dragging projects along that no longer belong to you? Third pair: cards 5 and 6 (rewards and career potential). If you are already being rewarded today but the longer path looks pale, you have a good status quo and no growth. The other way around means you are living below your value — the longer picture is right, the day-to-day is not. Both setups are changeable the moment you see them.
Career-goals spread — frequently asked questions
- What do the six positions mean?
- Card 1 shows your purpose, card 2 your motivation, card 3 your responsibilities, card 4 your current projects, card 5 what you are currently rewarded with, and card 6 your longer career potential.
- Does this spread suit a job decision?
- Yes, with a caveat. It gives you the larger picture — if you are choosing between two specific offers, combine it with a stay-or-go reading on each offer.
- What if my career-potential card is unclear or heavy?
- That is not a fate verdict. It tells you your current path does not fully unlock the longer potential. Ask which card you would need to change to shift card 6.
- How often can I pull this spread?
- At most every two to three months. Career movement is slow — it needs time to show up before new cards meaningfully reflect it.
