What does this mean?
On September 11, 2026 at 05:27 (CEST), the New Moon falls in Virgo: Sun and Moon stand exactly together and the night sky goes dark. Astrologically this is the seeding point of the month — the best moment to quietly begin something new, this time coloured by Virgo.
What does the Moon mean?
The Moon is your inner life — feelings, habits, home. It shows what nourishes you, what sets you off, and how you bring yourself to safety when the world gets too loud. Where the Sun describes who you want to be, the Moon tells what you are when nobody is watching: your reflexes, your longings, the fabric your dreams are made of.
What does the New Moon mean?
New Moon: Sun and Moon stand together. A seeding point – sow, don’t harvest. A good time to start a project quietly.
What does Virgo mean?
Virgo is craft and sorting. The good is in the detail, in service, in care, and in the skill of actually being able to do a thing. Where Virgo acts, something gets reworked, cleaned, improved, stays unobtrusive — and in the end carries more than louder gestures.
New Moon in Virgo plants a new beginning in this sign's key. Something can start quietly here — not loud yet, not finished, but in the direction Virgo opens up.

How to read the data
- Moon position — the degree the Moon occupies at the exact moment. 0° is the start of a sign, 29° its end.
- Opposite lunation — the next full moon, where the cycle peaks.
- A small test — on the evening of September 11, write one sentence about what felt clearer than usual that day. Read it again at the full moon on September 26, 2026.
How often is there a new moon in Virgo?
About once a year: from 1900 to 2100 there were 210 new moons in Virgo. In 9 years there were two.
The reason is simple: at new moon the Sun and Moon stand at the same point. A new moon in Virgo therefore comes while the Sun is in Virgo, almost always in August and September.
Across all signs there are 12.37 new moons a year. The lunar cycle of 29.5 days is shorter than a calendar month, so about every 2.7 years a thirteenth fits into the year.
