Calculating your IC: the root of your chart
The Imum Coeli (IC) is the lowest point of your chart — the degree of the ecliptic that lay directly beneath your feet at birth, on the far side of the Earth. It sits exactly opposite the MC and marks the cusp of the fourth house: origins, family, home and whatever you need to come back to yourself after a long day. Because the IC hangs on the same axis as the MC, the same rules apply: time and place are required, but a few minutes of error shift the sign less often than with the Ascendant.
